To aid ships sailing the treacherous mid-channel of Delaware Bay, a series of lighthouses were constructed in the 19th Century and the early 20th Century. Most of these lighthouses are still operating. All are automated. They stand on pedestals surrounded by water out of sight of land.
Trips will be conducted aboard the all new CAPE MAY WHALE WATCHER, brand new from her refit in 2010. She has new seating, an air conditioned and heated cabin, new restrooms, new snack bar, and an all new sound system.
Trips includes Breakfast consisting of Danish, Donuts, Bagels, Toast, Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, and Juice, as well as Lunch. Lunch consists of a combination of our classic cold menu (Cheese Tray, Veggie Tray Fruit Tray, sandwichs). The Grand Tour is 6-7 Hours and includes all 9 water access only Delaware Bay lighthouses: Cape May, Inner Breakwater, Outer Breakwater, Brandywine, Fourteen Foot, Miah Maul, Crossedge, Elbow of Crossledge,and Ship John Shoal. $99/person
New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge (October) will be about 5 hours and include all 6 water access only Delaware Bay lighthouses: Brandywine, Fourteen Foot, Miah Maul, Crossedge, Elbow of Crossledge,and Ship John Shoal. Departs at 10am; $85/person.
